New article[edit]

I discovered this language today by accident while examining Periodic Table of the Elements. I am starting the development of the article with some basic information. I have this page on my watchlist, so please post any comments here. -- Wavelength (talk) 23:08, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have just discovered that Blueprints for Babel: Romániço has (at the bottom of the page) a link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Románico (spelled without a cedilla), which was deleted for non-notability. However, Google reports over a million pages with "Romániço" (spelled with a cedilla).

On closer inspection, I find that most of the search results that I see displayed by Google have the word spelled without the cedilla, so evidently the notability is less than what it first appears to be. -- Wavelength (talk) 00:01, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Old article[edit]

An article on this conlang previously existed at Románico. I've merged the page histories.

Spelling differences[edit]

According to the introduction at Blueprints for Babel: Romániço, the creators of the language called it originally "Romanico" and later "Romániço". Other spelling differences can be seen between Onomástico and Onomastikana Nominaro Románica. (The two latter pages link respectively to Romániço and Blueprints for Babel: Romániço, but I have been unsuccessful in my search for reverse links: a link from Romániço to Onomástico and a link from Blueprints for Babel: Romániço to Onomastikana Nominaro Románica). -- Wavelength (talk) 18:47, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Deletionpedia has an article about "Románico" (with what appears to be an old spelling). Also, the language is indexed in some Internet directories, including two major ones, namely the Open Directory Project and Google Directory.

Romana language[edit]

Romanova language[edit]

Alan Reed Libert[edit]

Apparently, LINGUIST List has incorrectly identified [1] the university where Alan Reed Libert is a professor of Linguistics. It shows his e-mail address as being associated with the University of Newcastle, Australia, but it shows his institution as University of Newcastle upon Tyne, which is in England. The profile of Alan Libert (presumably the same person) on the website of the University of Newcastle, Australia, shows his e-mail address as being associated with that university in Australia. -- Wavelength (talk) 18:09, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

@Psiĥedelisto and IJzeren Jan: The Afd was closed as "no consensus" for reasons I won't have to understand, because no one said "keep as article".
