drafting in 1964[edit]

The page states Staubach was drafted by the Cowboys in 1964. How was Staubach drafted in the NFL before graduating the Academy in '65?source --ProdigySportsman 01:48, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The draft back then, I think, was at the end of the year. It wasn't until 1967 (as a step in the NFL-AFL merger) that the NFL Draft format as we know it today originated. WAVY 10 20:53, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't Staubach used to be x-ref'd under "German-Americans" ?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.114.58.46 (talk) 15:38, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He was a futures pick in his junior year by Dallas. The draft rules were different then. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.55.240.114 (talk) 00:11, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What this article needs: images, in-line cites, mention of his involvement to bring the Super Bowl to DFW (done - 2/21/07), charity work, etc... I intend to raise this article to GA status by the end of March, with the intent of reaching FA status shortly thereafter. By the end of February, I'll submit what's been done so far for a peer review. Any and all help that can be mustered will be appreciated. Caknuck 08:55, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'm a little behind schedule. Hopefully I'll have the article ready for a PR by the end of this month. Caknuck 05:32, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Presidential Medal of Freedom[edit]

Per MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE: The less information it contains, the more effectively it serves that purpose, allowing readers to identify key facts at a glance. The most important fact is Staubach receiving the award, not who bestowed it, and the details remain in the body. For the record, the inclusion of the president was reverted in other articles as well, suggesting there is not an obvious consensus for this in the infobox.—Bagumba (talk) 06:45, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
