A naturalistic rockery in England... NATURALISTIC??????????

Yes, naturalistic. What I meant by this, and what most landscape architects would understand by it, is that the rockery is built to look like a natural rock outcrop with a bedding plane. The alternative form for a rockery is where the stones are placed without any attempt to appear part of an underlying geological formation. This is valid for a garden, but it is not naturalistic.
By all means edit what I wrote in the article. We are here to co-operate in making improvements. Chris Jefferies 11:43, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The "literally rocked" line is cute but not appropriate for Wikipedia - can someone suggest an edit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lainster91 (talkcontribs) 10:43, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
