Labour PPC[edit]

Merge[edit]

Medway (UK Parliament constituency) should be merged with Rochester and Strood (UK Parliament constituency) as they are the same constituency - the only difference is the name. It would have been better to simply rename Medway (UK Parliament constituency) and mention in the article that the name had been changed. Strongly oppose merger. This issue has arisen many times before, and the long-standing consensus at WT:UKPC has been to have an article for each name of constituency. This does create some apparent duplication (as in this case), but it is the least messy of any of the possible alternatives. A Letter, The Times, Telegraph, Lucifer's Media Consensus, Clarification on Wikipedia's Jimbo Wales[edit]

After waking up from a dream, I walked downstairs and found this leaflet on the mat underneath my letterbox.

If I scan this image and post it inside of a comment on the main article, will it take up too much space? If I contact Dan Hodges and James Kirkup at the Telegraph, and they agree, will there be any chance to contact the Wikipedia team, including Jimbo Wales and Rachel Marsden? I'm sick of The Huffington Post, it's too Annie Hall for my tastes. I much prefer Manhattan. Thanks guys. Will e-mail you later, unless I'm mistaken in some shape or form. To be honest, I'm not fully clued up on how Wikipedia works.

As a careful and frugal man, I have considered whether there is any reason to vote Conservative any longer. We were told that the Coalition Government was formed in the national interest. In fact, Cameron's closest advisers were loyalists to David Owen's now defunct SDP. Surely it wasn't in the national interest for David Cameron to hire people from the SDP. Is it shocking for SDP advisers to plan for a coalition government with other former SDP members inside of the Liberal Democrat party? David Cameron has betrayed his own supporters. In fact, these SDP advisers also were highly influential to the leadership of John Major, William Hague, Iain Duncan Smith, and Michael Howard. Is it no wonder that the Conservative Party has lost 4 times in a row because it is following in the footsteps of Shirley Williams, Roy Jenkins, David Owen, and Ringo Starr? I am tired of the lies. The betrayal lies with the leadership of the Conservative Party, as it has betrayed the interests of its supporters, in favour of an ideology called Social Democracy. Surprisingly Cameron portrays himself as non-ideological. But his actions tell another story. Cameronism deceives the members of his own party at such a fundamental level, that it is impossible to offer him trust or support. Cameronism poses as one thing, but is in fact another, every single time. We are presented with an image of Conservative pragmatism. The reality is Social Democats masquerading as Conservatives.

I am considering standing for election as an independent at the election. I would like here to set out my strategy for winning the by-election. My supporters promise to:

Study The Art of War by Sun Tzu.
Form a group of four men to keep a close eye on our brutally efficient opponent Andrew Cooper of Populus Polling. Keep in mind that his polling company is the same as a Swiss Army Knife, and that he is an expert at his duty. Alex Salmond is still licking the wounds from Populus Polling's attacks.
Form a group of four men to analyse the works of our opponents Rob Ford and Matthew Goodwin, two ruthless and conniving psuedo-academics.
Attack in print the legitimacy of the Coalition Government, based on plain facts.
Form a group to counter 'Lucifer's Consensus', correcting all instances of dishonest groupthink that's been printed in the media.
Read Xenophon - Anabasis before setting out.
Base every campaign action on real life, not illusions. Our duty is to expose the illusions of our opponents and help the voters to see the reality, in our thoughts and deeds.
Form a group of four men to create satirical images of The Times newspaper and the works all its journalists. The satire must be brutal, unrelenting, witty, tasteful, constant, and funny.
Form another group of four men to make sure that the satirical works are passed on to every potential voter, and note the responses of the voters. Take feedback as to what is effective then pass on the results to the writing team.
Spread the notion that the Telegraph has a new American manager, so no longer represents the opinions of Saxon men. Make sure the voters understand and compehend the truth that the Telegraph is currently the enemy of all Englishmen.

All we have to do is help the voters to understand the genuine reality. Keeping this in mind, we are assured of total victory. This Social Democratic Government, its wicked ideology, and Lucifer's Media Consensus must lick the dust. New MP?[edit]

The user who edited the page yesterday (9 March 2018), Teshiburu, to change the MP, has misunderstood the newspaper article they cite. Incumbent MP Kelly Tolhurst resigned her seat on the local council (though I'm not sure why it took her over two years to do so after becoming an MP, unless it is acceptable practice to hold both posts at the same time). It has been won by a Labour candidate on Medway Council. That doesn't change the constituency's MP, which is a completely different thing. The by-election was for the local council seat, not a parliamentary one. I've reverted the changes. TrottieTrue (talk) 01:34, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Error on page[edit]

This article states the following: "Since 2022, she has served as Government Deputy Chief Whip and Treasurer of the Household" which is not correct as Kelly Tolhurst is no longer the Chief Whip. This needs removing. RyanPLB (talk) 15:13, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
