Sources, lack thereof[edit]

Sorry i cant cite any sources for this article, but the man was my grandfather so you'll have to take my word for it, i'm afraid. a lot of it was paraphrased from his obit in the Times, but i cant find a web-based version of it.

sorry - goof. the obit was from the Independent. doh. I only have a clipping, not the whole paper.

Hoax tag?[edit]

Someone added a hoax tag. Probably because database searches (both cross database commercial searches and google and google books and amazon books etc..) come up empty on his name and the title of his "landmark book". Compare this with the articles glowing importance of Hughes: "pioneer of Electroencephalography" .. "set up and commanded the Allied field hospital at D-Day" .. it doesn't make sense that there would be nothing about him if he was that important. I did find some indirect hints that there was a Robert Roland Hughes in the Liverpool area .. and the Liverpool area was an important place in the history of Electroencephalography .. which suggests to me that this is a real person, but perhaps his significance needs to be better explained. I didnt hyphenate 'electro-encephalography' in the book title, which is probably why there is no mention of 'electroencephalography' on google.

have since consulted the relatives vis. Hughes' army service as it seems strange that such a low rank would attain so high a command. learned that he didnt command the field hospital, but was instrumental in setting it up. the obit was inaccurate. have amended article accordingly.

Munk's Role[edit]

I have requested a copy of his Munk's Role entry from the Royal College of Physicians which should provide some more info and iron out any inaccuracies. Should be with me in a couple of weeks.
