I think this should either be redirected to the NY article or Ridge Route. Most of these aren't notable. —Scott5114 21:42, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They are more notable than you think. In Illinois and Indiana, Ridge Road is a generic name for a road along the ancient shore of Lake Michigan (see Calumet Shoreline). The set of seemingly non-notable roads with that name mark a major geographic feature.
Furthermore, Ridge Route and Blue Ridge Road do not bear mentioning on this page because Ridge Road is not given as an alternative name on those pages.
Most of these pages are linking here incorrectly since the "cleanup". Thundermaker (talk) 04:16, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I beg to differ that this page is somehow worse now than it was before. The previous version was littered with redlinks and violated the MOS in several ways. I also see nothing wrong with listing roads with a similar name. It isn't far-fetched to think that someone looking for Ridge Route or Blue Ridge Road may inadvertently type in "Ridge Road". As for the other Ridge Roads...if they're not notable enough for coverage in some article, they shouldn't be listed here per WP:MOSDAB. – TMF 14:20, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
TwinsMets, I do appreciate your work in trying to make this a great disambiguation page, but my feeling is that maybe there should be a concept page (not a DAB) about Ridge Roads, and that page could contain a list of roads which don't necessarily meet WP:GNG for having their own article (unlike the roads on this page). I'm going to go ahead and agree with Scott here. If we had a disambiguation page listing 5 or 6 different "Ridge Roads", I'd be fine with tacking Blue Ridge Road and Ridge Route onto the bottom, just in case that happened to be what people were looking for. But at present, I'm not seeing why we need a disambiguation page to begin with. Maybe if the article about the road in Indiana were expanded and split off (not something I see happening anytime soon), it would be a different story, but as it stands now, the article that link points to doesn't even mention Ridge Road. Ergo, since the only road named precisely Ridge Road on Wikipedia is the one in New York, I think that's where this should be redirected. – Kacie Jane (talk) 20:29, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't get why roads that are not named Ridge Road are listed here in the first place. The purpose of this dab page is to differentiate between different roads called "Ridge Road". I don't see how other roads such as Ridge Route and Blue Ridge Road can be confused with Ridge Road. If that's the case, this page mind as well include all streets named Ridge Street, Ridge Avenue, Ridge Pike, etc. Dough4872 01:51, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If that's how others feel, then redirect this to the New York road and call it a day. – TMF 12:36, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if this approach is taken, I will revert any and all additions of a hatnote on Ridge Road (WNY) pointing readers to Ridge Route per the opinions above. It'll inevitably happen. – TMF 12:39, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The dab page also includes a Ridge Road in IN, so it should still be kept for disambiguation between the NY and IN Ridge Roads. However, any entry that is not simply "Ridge Road" should be removed. Dough4872 15:35, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The IN link redirects to US 6 in IN and makes no mention of US 6 Business, let alone the Ridge Road in question. – TMF 16:36, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While it isn't apples to apples, something can be learned from List of streets named after Martin Luther King, Jr.. —Fredddie 23:48, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
