Satellite footage?[edit]

Does this film include early high-altitude satellite imagery of the Earth? Robert K S (talk) 04:25, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Like several films of its era, Riders to the Stars (1954) uses footage shot by sounding rockets--sub orbital research rockets fired above the atmosphere but not into earth orbit. The first true satellite was Sputnik 1957. Naaman Brown (talk) 15:48, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WAC Corporal footnote[edit]

I strongly suggest that the link to WAC Corporal, already contained in this article, means that the note providing extra information about the WAC Corporal is redundant. Would also suggest that the detail given in the note is not a critical enough element of the Riders to the Stars article to require repeating it here as a standalone note. If the WAC Corporal article is inadequate in describing the info contained in the note, perhaps the WAC Corporal article is the place to add extra information? I'll check back here for comments/discussion. Jmg38 (talk) 18:41, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's an aside to the reader especially since other stock footage in the film shows spacecraft. The WAC Corporal was not capable of flying into space, just looked the part. That is relevant to the film, not the detailed article on the sounding rocket. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 20:10, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
