His first wife's death[edit]

This article says of Quine's first wife, Susan Peters, that "she died of the effects of anorexia nervosa in 1952, at age 31." That's probably wrong, and apparently came from that footnote, which merely said that "she starved herself to death in October 1952, at 31" -- from which we should not actually infer anorexia. I think a better source would be Susan Peters' own Wikipedia article, which says: "Peters' doctor attributed her death to a chronic kidney infection, a complication caused by her paralysis, and bronchial pneumonia. He also noted that her death was hastened by dehydration and starvation because, in the last few weeks of her life, Peters had "lost interest" in eating and drinking and had lost the will to live." World War II service[edit]

Although Quine served in the United States Coast Guard during the World War II era, no reliable sources found as of yet state that he served overseas in a war zone during the war. Alternative First Wife[edit]

Many web pages show him with another first wife, Example: [Susan Paley] but no information on dates other than 1942 and a comment they were only married four months before his romance started with his co-star Peters. MonsieurET (talk) 16:51, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
