Texas Rivalry[edit]

[1] Texas leads Rice 16-11 from 1997-2008. Need to find a source of longer historical data, but this is a start? Yes, yes it is.

Rice Historical Data from SWC[edit]

In an attempt to demonstrate prolonged futility, I want to use Boyd's Conference Standings to be able to say something like "Rice finished in the bottom-half of the SWC for ___ straight seasons, including last-place finishes ___ times." This took tallying and clicking, but I believe is something I can reasonably tally without being original research. I question if this Boyd site will stand up as a reliable source under (what I hope) will be an eventual GA or (pie-in-the-sky) FA review. But for now...

Rice-Houston record[edit]

This isn't so much for discussion but to document the process by which I obtained the 80 Rice wins over Houston all-time, which is in disagreement with the numbers stated (but not verified) at Rice-Houston rivalry. The mess of citations at the end of the paragraph goto a slew of articles that I've tabulated for the final total shown in the article. The tally begins with the ESPN citation from 2003 that listed the all-time record going into the 2003 Super Regional series, and I've used RiceOwls.com data to fill in the remaining years, and then add. I cannot (as yet) find a source more recent than 2003 that states an all-time record between the two schools. I welcome anyone who can come forward and source a correction (whether it confirms or refutes the Rice-UH article above), or correct my adding. Aha, I figured out where he got the data from. Here's how I pieced it together:
Which leads to a cumulative all-time record of 77-68, which is a one-game flip from what was posted at Rice-Houston rivalry. Pictures, Fair Use, and Jumping in Piles...[edit]

Want to help illustrate the 2003 Championship, and there's a pretty ubiquitous picture of the championship dogpile I'd like to use. But it's an AP photo and I'm not sure that there's a reasonable fair use for it.

An example of the photo camp be found here: [2]. I realize it's by no means a necessity, but it'd be a nice illustration of a pretty important moment in Rice sports history. Also, this would be my first photo upload and I'd rather not mess it up.

Coaches? Are they the same as similarly named Sports Figures?[edit]

Of note, Michael/Mike O'Neill, Joe Gallagher, and Dell Morgan MAY not be the same as their similarly named maybe-doppelgangers. O'Neill and Gallagher have documented Pro baseball careers which do not interfere time-wise with the coaching timeframes given in the Rice media guide. Check the Rice baseball media guide, and if that doesn't help then I guess the next step would be more thorough research through a library. Merger Proposal[edit]

I thought we had consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Major League Baseball players who played for Penn State that the standalone lists serve no purpose and should be merged with the articles that subsume the topic they cover.
