Untitled text from 2006[edit]

The way the article is currently worded, portrays the Republic as though it was almost ancient. Please insert information about when, where and why the idea of a Jamtlanic republic was conceived. The text under the header "Ethnicity" is also pretty much pure rubbish and that it's not etho-centric seems to be rather naive POV. Please fix these problems before removing the NPOV-sign.

I'm not enough of an expert on the subject to correct the article enough, but sourcing for almost everything is needed in a major rewrite. My understanding is that the "Republic of Jämtland" is a 1960's idea originally concieved as a bit of a joke that has stuck with some circles. Notice that both the first presidents were comedians. The idea of the "Republic" is founded in a period of independence in the late 12th century. This version of the article is certainly POV. Usrnme h8er 09:00, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I for one support this idea. It's questionable whether such a tentative republic actually requires a separate article.
