Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the Reidys music store(s) are regarded as a regional landmark, and since its humble beginnings back in 1922 it has grown to become one of the largest suppliers of musical instruments in the world. The owner also founded the record label "All Around The World", which also operates from the Reidys premises, who created the popular "clubland" franchise which spawned 4 live arena tours and 26 albums (with tracks by N-dubz, Flip & Fill and Ultrabeat to name a few)--178.164.212.175 (talk) 00:24, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The usual criterion for inclusion is outlined here. I also recommend Wikipedia:Your first article. While this article doesn't qualify for speedy deletion, it's unclear that it would survive a deletion discussion in its current form. WilyD 16:54, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article name[edit]

I believe that the article name should be "Reidy's Home of Music", with a possessive apostrophe, because it was founded and owned by members of the Reidy family. By the 1980s, the owners were Mr Nuttall and his wife, who was known to the staff as Miss Reidy, being a direct descendant of a founder. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:29, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Although the shop sometimes omitted the apostrophe in its publicity, the article here should be at the grammatically correct title. Same applies with Andy's Records, where the Wikipedia article is at Andys Records. --188.30.247.233 (talk) 14:04, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In fact Andy's Records has now been moved. I've asked below for this page also to be moved. --188.29.49.20 (talk) 18:52, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reidys Home of MusicReidy's Home of Music – Apostrophe is missing in present title. 188.29.49.20 (talk) 18:50, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support For some reason the company itself does not use the apostrophe in its logo, advertising material or on its front page [1], but it does use it on its "About Us" page [2]. Secondary sources use the apostrophe [3][4]. – Thjarkur (talk) 21:42, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per my post above. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:51, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
