Wikipedia as free advertising[edit]

This is a rather odd article. The Rangers Supporters Trust does indeed exist and perhaps even deserves an entry in an encyclopedia but the length of it and its style seems to me to have been written by one of the Trust themselves. Hardly a neutral point of view. I've added a few criticisms, nothing gratuitous and purely for the sake of balance, and taken out the links. After all, Wikipedia is not meant to be a source of free advertising. Lets see how long they last. MyThoughtsExactly (talk) 20:45, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BearsdenBear?[edit]

My edits lasted a week, I'm genuinely surprised. However they were replaced with more POV, clearly against wiki's aims. The purpose of these articles is to give balanced information regarding a subject to a neutral reader who can then make an informed opinion. This article is obviously written, and guarded, by members of the Trust (especially BearsdenBear whose name is either Mr Glass or Mr Semple) in order to propogate an uncritical spin on the organisation. If one had the inclination most of the article could be deleted on POV grounds and because none of it is backed up with references but in the end my small, minor edits regarding the opening paragraph and some fairly mild criticism proved too much. The Trust has been accused of paranoia. BearsdenBear certainly is and there's the proof. Tragic. MyThoughtsExactly (talk) 19:35, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
