Split[edit]

This page was relocated fom the "Tire" article in preparation for a re-work of that page. Zengineerwerks 22:18, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

huh?[edit]

At present the text reads "A different form of damage to railroad wheels takes place if violent wheel slip occurs. The friction caused can heat the wheel (and rail) enough to cause heat damage."

This paragraph makes no sense.

Different from what? And what is "wheel slip?" (and what happens if the wheel slip isn't violent?) And does the wheel damage occur independently of damage to the tires, which is the subject of the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.91.65.225 (talk) 22:15, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Railway tires be merged into Train wheel. I think that the content in the Railway tires article can easily be explained in the context of Train wheel, and the Train wheel article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Railway tires will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. I think you mean, "I created a new unsourced stub that duplicates other articles, and I think they should be deleted and merged into my new one". Oppose Andy Dingley (talk) 09:45, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
