Marty Morrissey[edit]

I don't believe he was the staff member of RTÉ that was referred to at the Oireachtas. I think the were referring to a member of management. IrishTV (talk) 09:16, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Role of Renault[edit]

Hi, @Edl-irishboy, @SeoR and anyone else interested.

I'm intrigued / concerned at the near-total absence of references to Renault Ireland in the current article. Renault is central to the story as one of the three parties to the irregular contract to pay Tubridy, and were used / allowed themselves to be used as the conduit to disguise the origin of the payment.

In addition, I think this is relevant: https://blog.hereshow.ie/2023/07/heres-how-162-gravy-trains-and-spin-cycles/ Essentially the story is that the motor industry has used gifts and slush funds to put journalists and RTÉ staff in a position of obligation, to subtly influence coverage to its favour. I don't know if you want to include that claim, but at a minimum the central role of Renault should be documented.

Also, that RTÉ corporately have been very uncooperative with journalists reporting on the story has been mentioned in a number of outlets, including by RTÉ journalists, it might be worth noting this too. 2001:9E8:1839:1C00:1943:F3F7:D419:46E0 (talk) 22:04, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
