MiniRSTS?[edit]

Where does "miniRSTS" come from? I've never heard that name. Certainly it was never used at DEC, and I've never heard it use elsewhere in the RSTS community either.

MiniRSTS[edit]

Paul, you have at least a decade more experience with this than I do. You should be writing the history. I just created my wiki account 2 days ago so this is all new to me.

There was only one (1) place I ever saw the word MiniRSTS on a DIGITAL document. It was in the packing slip that explained the distributed software (an RK05 platter with DOS V08-02 and paper tapes).

I have never seen the term in any DIGITAL manual or referenced in any of the software that ran on RSTS-11 (most of which you wrote). If this is an incorrect term, it should be removed.

Merge proposal[edit]

This has come up a few times and everyone agrees it should be done... thought I'd stimulate the idea again. I could go at it myself, but am not by any means a subject expert (other than using and programming for RSTS many, many years ago).--NapoliRoma (talk) 00:25, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for putting up the formal merge templates as I was just getting ready to merge these pages. If you check Talk:RSTS/E I think you'll find that everyone is already pretty much in agreement on this, I've just been taking a lot of time to rebuild the merged pages. My deadline for this was to be January 1st, 2008 but I'm still missing a few items. Also I've left considerable "new" material out as I believed that content should go in sub-pages as to not clutter up the main article. The merged page should be up in a day or two (unless there is some immediate objection). Bbump (talk) 05:16, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
