No Mg in 5th group?[edit]

Could the 5th group procedure be made to give a hydroxide precipitate for Mg, which would allow better testing than the flame test (where Mg gives no color)? Typically Mg hydroxide precipitated at pH 8-10 depending on solution composition. Olthe3rd1 (talk) 17:07, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
