Need help in some details[edit]

My knowledge of the history of this puzzle is limited; maybe someone else who knows more can expand the history section? Also, it would be nice to have an estimate of the number of permutations this beautiful puzzle has, if somebody knows how to calculate it.—Tetracube (talk) 19:11, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your calculations appear correct, as far as I can tell. It's the Megaminx formula divided by 60 due to the lack of face centers. I added a little more detail on the division by 60 and simplified the formula slightly. I replaced part of the equation (2^29/(2*2)) with 2^27. It could be simplified further, by replacing (30! * 20!)/60 with 29!*19! but I don't think that would be as clear. I also added the full figure. I'm putting spaces instead of commas in the number for any new ones I add so that it can word wrap to the next line on small screens. I don't have this puzzle yet. If you want this puzzle, you'll have to order it from Meffert ASAP, since he apparently only did a small production run, and only has a limited stock left. From the sounds of it, he's not making another run since demand is not very high.—Tetracube (talk) 17:53, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
