The food displayed[edit]

is usually not just chestnuts and "dates" (they aren't dates, but a Korea fruit called taechoo, often translated as jujube), but other travel food. My understanding is that this ceremony marks the bride's travel to the groom's family house (shee-jip) and so the food tossed is dried food or nuts, suitable for eating on the road for a journey which in the old days could've taken several days, especially in the more mountainous regions. --Dan (talk) 17:20, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

This article was created, with horrible badlink included as one of two references forming the basis for the article, by User:Flyingtoaster1337. User:Flyingtoaster1337 is also User:Kimchi.sg User:Resurgent insurgent User:Spinning beachball User:Kavadi carrier User:Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh.
