Top 10[edit]

I just noticed that you copied the towns from their homepage, but instead of using a non-numbered sorting like Blacksmith did, you put numbers in front of them. Thus Chernobyl (which starts with a 'C') became the worst polluted place, which is not true. The Institute never gave out a final order.

Cite from their page:

"In the end, it was agreed that identifying these ten was a significant achievement but that it was not realistic, given the wide range of scales and types, to put them into a final 1-to-10 order. This report therefore refrains from pointing the finger at one place and saying that this is the worst on earth. Being on the final list of ten is bad enough."

It is highly appreciable that such an initiative to measure pollution exists. This will help bring focus to our pollution illnesses of the world. However, I feel this is still a very narrow viewpoint. There are many unmeasurable quantities like per capita consumption and waste generation, per capita emissions from fossil fuel burning, etc. Either such counts will give an entirely different perspective on pollution generation and carbon emissions for example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.252.142.14 (talk) 12:52, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

I've been trying to edit down the article on blacksmithinstitute.org but i'm finding it quite hard as most of the statements either have a link to blacksmithinstitute.org, no reference at all or are self referential.

For instance "Blacksmith works cooperatively around the world in partnerships that include governments, the international community, NGOs and local agencies to design and implement innovative, low-cost pollution solutions that save lives. So far I've left in anything I can and hope not messed it up too much. From looking at it after my edits they come across much better without the links to blacksmithinstitute.org every time and their message is clearer i hope.
