Age of Battle Cry?[edit]

How old is the ਬੋਲੇ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਾਲ, ਸਤ ਸ਼੍ੀ ਅਕਾਲ battle cry? And just how many Pak-bashing films have I heard this in in movies rented from my Sikh dukaanwala?! Anyway, there's no shortage of sites for the Indian Punjab Regiment, I'm sure I could find out. Khirad 10:54, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

71st Punjab Regiment (1921)[edit]

Hi, I'm working on an article on the Mahar Regiment. I found something about how the 111th Mahars were merged into the 71st Punjabs in 1921. Can anyone tell me if the 71st Punjabs were a West Punjabi or an East Punjabi Regiment? Kunal 08:17, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Punjab Regiment insignia.png[edit]

Image:Punjab Regiment insignia.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Blue Star[edit]

If the regiment was not involved in Operation Blue Star, as the article currently states, then why on earth are we even mentioning it? - Sitush (talk) 18:24, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

First Patiala Battalion, the oldest Indian Battalion[edit]

If 15 Punjab celebrated its 300 year anniversary in 2005, then the oldest battalion of 15 Punjab, the First Patiala Battalion, must have been founded in 1705 rather than 1805. Thus the second sentence in the History section appears to contain an error. Similarly, if Alla Singh, 1691 to 1765, founded both the State of Patiala and the First Patiala Battalion, then the First Patiala Battalion could not have been founded in 1805. I do hope that someone out there has a copy of "First Patiala, A Legendary Force" LFlagg (talk) 22:32, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
