Assessment[edit]

This is a stub. It has no plot summary, a dubious description of the production and creative background that contained two obvious name errors, so I suspect other names and facts are wrong also. In particular, I suspect that Wimperis wrote the book for London, and Donahue did the re-writes for the 1930 NY production. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:10, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The names came from the ibdb. For some reason the ibdb consistantly spells Wimperis's name wrong. In reflection I should have realised who they were talking about (likewise with George Grossmith, Jr), but since I am not familiar with this work you can hardly blame me. Honestly I only created it to de-orphan the article on Ernest McChesney. I agree that this article needs better sources. In my mind its a borderline stub/start article at the moment so either classification works for me.Singingdaisies (talk) 22:24, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

LOL: perhaps the fact that George Grossmith was dead was a hint.  :-) I think that Franz Martos wrote the orginal Hungarian libretto for the Budapest version, and I suspect that Wimperis and Wylie wrote the London book. I think that is what the IBDB is trying to say, although it is far from clear. More research is needed, but an article about a musical or operetta should not be promoted to Start until it has a good plot summary. OK, now I'm pretty sure. See: http://www.guidetomusicaltheatre.com/london_shows_chronology/1926.htm -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:39, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for correcting the errors.Singingdaisies (talk) 22:44, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Looking around on the internet, I didn't see a plot summary, but I'm sure it'll turn up eventually. All the best, -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:21, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment update[edit]

This is still a "stub", because there is no plot summary section. Please add a substantial plot summary before changing the assessment. -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:19, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
