Questions[edit]

This article mentions he was christened before his premature death. Any info on his godparents? Was it more like a hurried baptism, because the family sensed he was probably going to die? At any rate, did he have godparents for this ceremony? Morhange 01:03, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The website that is already referenced in the article says he was baptized in the presence of both his parents, his mother's lady-in-waiting, and a doctor who attended the birth. There was no other information in Queen Alexandra's biography except for the name of the lady-in-waiting who was with her at the time of the birth (Mrs. Stonor). I would assume that because the birth was unexpected and the baby was ill, the baptism was hurried and that the doctor and lady-in-waiting were the godparents.--Susan/sef127 18:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget. I don't want the information that's in this article moved to Edward VII, because it would be undue weight to have this amount of detail on Alexander John in Edward's article. However, I can see the value of moving it into the "Notes" cell at Grandchildren of Victoria and Albert#Children of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. Good point. Most 'articles' on children who died in infancy are pure template cruft, but this one actually has some information worth preserving. If it's shortened just a little bit it will fit well into the "Notes" column of his table row. Hans Adler 11:00, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
