Insubstantial?

Resolved

This doesn't seem to be much more than an idea. Does it need an article? --Kleinzach 08:26, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Restoration discussion
  • I have restored the above comment deleted by User:Whataworld06. Talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice. Please do not do this again. Note also that this article continues to be speculative. The opera isn't even completed yet, let alone performed. I have also placed a [failed verification] tag on the assertion: "there are unconfirmed plans to transfer the opera to London". More unconfirmed speculation and not remotely supported by the reference provided [1]. If a valid reference is not produced for this assertion within 48 hours, it will be removed. • I apologize for the deletion. I did not realize information was never removed from Talk pages, and I assumed an outdated concern could be removed. Clearly, this is not an insubstantial article, and the opera is more than just an idea. I will not remove information from a Talk page again in the future. Regarding the transfer to London, I recall the listed source making the claim (I certainly would not make that up, and I fully understand that all details need to be cited). The reason I reverted the last edit made was because the sentence was grammatically incorrect with the removal of the last phrase of the sentence, and because I was certain the source cited made the claim. However, looking at the source now, I see it does not (though I know I read that at some point in one of the references listed). Since I do not have time to randomly rummage through references to see one citing the possibility of a transfer to London, you are welcome to remove the information. It's just not that big of a deal, and of course time will tell what will happen to the production. Thanks again! Whataworld06 (talk) 14:20, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Synopsis

Resolved

As it currently stands, the synopsis comes directly from the opera program. Is this allowed, assuming the author of the summary is credited (Daniel Kramer), or does it need to be paraphrased and still credited? Sorry, I am not too familiar with proper procedure, but I want to make sure all rules are followed. Also, how does one credit the author? Is there a specific template or method for crediting an author of a synopsis or using a program as a source? Thanks! --Another Believer (Talk) 17:54, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

  • NOTE: If the synopsis is still verbatim or even contains verbatim sentences from the one used in the program, it is a copyright violation, and must be re-written or removed immediately, unless the original author has explicitly written to Wikipedia with consent to release it here under Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License 3.0. It is not enough to credit the source. Please read WP:COPYVIO and its associated pages for more information. Voceditenore (talk) 12:06, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for clarifying. At the moment, the synopsis is verbatim (I thought crediting the author would be acceptable). I can work on a summary later--in the meantime, feel free to edit or remove if needed. I apologize for its inclusion. --Another Believer (Talk) 20:11, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Update: The synopsis has been removed from the article. --Another Believer (Talk) 20:25, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
