Laying up of the Colours[edit]

From Facebook Established in 1939 at the request of the Pretoria Caledonian Society and serving in East Africa, Madagascar, North Africa and Italy during WW2. Subsequently operated in Namibia (SWA) and within South Africa. Hunting Stewart tartan for the kilt and one of 4 kilted armour regiments in the world and one of 4 kilted serving Citizen Force Regiments in South Africa. Supported over the years by the PH Pipe Band and during operations by units from Light WorkshopUnits, Medical Corp and Signals and finally under the care of Pretoria Regiment.. Only one Battle Honour awarded during WW2 due to the unit being deployed as artillery batteries attached to other units. Freedom of the City of Pretoria was bestowed on PH in 1968. And so the existence of a proud Regiment is finally brought to an end 4th June 2017.
