I think it may be simpler to regard presence as a location and direction-specific aspect of ambience (sound recording), and deal with it as a subtopic in that article. -- Chronulator (talk) 15:48, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe they should be merged in to one article, Ambience and presence (sound recording), each having a separate section, as they are very closely related but still distinct concepts. Radiodef (talk) 02:00, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
