Anchorage, channels, and berths[edit]

There are hundreds of federal regulations regarding navigation, including the prohibitions of blocking a channel. Choosing to mention it makes it appear that the situation is somehow special to the mouth of Manuta Creek, which it is not. While this article includes details about anchorage, channels, and berths specific to the situation at Paulsboro, there's no reason to include one national regulation which is by far not specific to the the Del River/Mantua Creek situation. That said, what is specific, worthy of mentioned, and needing context is that the new dreading depth (20ft) at berths at the marine terminal makes it possible for Handymax vessels to dock there since their draft requires it. This appears to be a contradiction in the omniport section mentioning a 40 foot draft.Djflem (talk) 08:23, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since the wording of where anchorage can take place was changed from "outside the mouth of the Mantua Creek" to "north of the mouth of the Mantua Creek" it now precludes the need to mention avoiding the blockage of passageways to/from the creek, which is covered by federal regulations that most readers are not familiar with.
The new wharf section in the Delaware River for the omniport marine terminal was dredged to 40 ft and will be maintained at that depth. The overall length of the wharf was to be designed to allow three Handymax vessels and one barge. These are two separate design issues, which do not contradict each other. Any updates about this information should be indicated in the Omniport section, where it is currently shown, rather than Shipping channels and lighthouses section. Mantua Creek dredging was allowed to 20 ft in order to obtain dredge fill material for raising the level of the omniport site. Mantua Creek channel is not being maintained at 20 ft as per Chart 12313.Wondering55 (talk) 14:37, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinate error[edit]

{{geodata-check}} The port is slightly upstream close to the mouth of the creek. Djflem (talk) 22:03, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to improve the coordinates on the basis of the information in the article. If any further adjustment is needed, please drop a message on my talk page. Deor (talk) 03:39, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
