Pokémon LeafGreen is not WaterBlue... yet... and I personally doubt that the name will change at all. So please, no one change the information until it become official!

Early Tries!

In my local Wal-Mart Supercenter's Home Entertainment Department, one day I saw a kid who was using Pokémon FireRed in it's full version! (And it's only late August!) WikiPediaAid

Possibly the kid pre-ordered and got it delivered before September, or went to the NY Pokémon Center "party" and was in line for hours and hours to buy it before the offical release date, as quite a few people managed to do.

Pokemon Players Guide

I put in some important information that I found in the offical Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Players Guide from Nintendo. Feel free to anyone to update or modify any additional Information.

Trading Pokemon

How do you trade between pokemon sapphire and pokemon fire red? I've tried to do this and it never lets me ive even used 3 diffrenet link cables and did everything the booklet told me to do. It always stops when it says please wait and after that nothing happenns and i would like to know why. Please help! If you can explain why this happens please post it up. You have to beat the eight gym leader Blaine, then you will be taken to the Sevii Islands, here you have to help a man named Celio repair his trading machine, then you can trade with Ruby and Sapphire.

You need to collect the Red and Blue jems from on of the Islands, and you need to get the National Dex. Sapphire Plate- Rainbow Island 5 Rocket HQ Ruby Plate- Rainbow Island 1 cave. To get the National Dex beat the Elite Four and have at least 6o pokemon.

You must defeat the Elite four. You must then speak to Professor Oak in his laboratory. He will award you with the National Pokedex. A man Called Celio will tell you that he will bring you compatibility between the Hoenn region(Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald) if you can find the Ruby and Sapphire gems. The Ruby will be found in One Island and the Sapphire 5 Island after using cut in the Dotted Hole and retreiving it and having it stole from a Team Rocket scientist. Speculation about third game

Some people note that a "WaterBlue" or "ThunderYellow" third game are not necessary. All 150 Pokemon can be found between the two versions, and the Hoenn games (Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald) allow all 386 Pokemon to be collected.

This was also true of Pokémon Red and Blue if I recall correctly. However they released Yellow, making Pikachu the selling point of the game. Can this counter argument be added in? I am unfamiliar with policy here... since I thought that up myself does it count as original research? Deskana 23:03, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

I don't see any problem with that statement. Yeah you could include that in the article. And, since Yellow was similar to the anime, you could go to Orange Islands instead of the Sevii Islands.--XenoNeon 13:47, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

In Addition to the Clock

I'm unsure so I'm not puttin it down, but wouldn't disabling the clock make the Pokérus entirely impossible to get in the game? I can testify that after 165 hours in LeafGreen, I haven't seen it-- though I haven't seen a shiny either, but they're there. --ArrEmmDee 14:31, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Correct. You cannot catch the Pokérus. You can trade over a Pokémon with it, but I forget what happens... I think it stays infected, but doesn’t spread it. -- WikidSmaht (talk) 20:19, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Minor Changes Section

I'm thinking of making a section that shows slight changes between FireRed/Leaf Green and Red/Blue/Yellow (such as Columbia, references to white magic removed, etc.). Trivia

I removed the section that says Wynaut and Azurill can be acquired without trading. This is because they can't. To breed Wynaut requires a Lax Incense, and Azurill requires a Sea Incense, both of which must be traded from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Stifle (talk) 12:41, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Actually...not true. I thought i had acquried a Lax and Sea Incense while playing FR/LG. I just checked a FAQ - on Island Five you can acquire both items, thus, you can breed them without having to trade. Hbdragon88 05:35, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

I have just discovered this weird re-direct. I had never heard of "Brown," so I did a search on Google. What I found was a hack of Pokemon Red by a user named Coolboyman. Apparently, at some point, some pirates put the game into cartridge and sold it around. Overemphasis on features

Version-exclusive Pokemon

Should there be a section that shows all the Pokémon that are exclusive to one version? For instance, Meowth and Persian used to be available in Pokémon Blue only, and Mankey and Primape in the Red version, but Mankey and Primape are available in LeafGreen and Meowth and Persian in FireRed. It's just an idea.

I'd like to request adding a picture from the original Red and Blue games in order to compare graphic increases.

Union Room

Should it be noted that the game over-praises the Union Room, saying you can meet people there you have never known before, and showing a picture of a bunch of people in the Union Room who apparently haven't met before? Third opinion

Generally, it is encouraged for editors to use the talk page rather than revert edit summaries to communicate. I would encourage those involved in the dispute to consider doing so. :) This being said, however, I would say that the less-verbose summary is a better one. While some summary of the game's content is a worthwhile part of any game's article, a blow-by-blow account of gameplay is more appropriate for a game guide, which Wikipedia is not. That argument is false in premise, though. The long account does not, for the most part, describe the gameplay elements, only the story progression, in no more detail than most of the film or episode synopses on the Wikipedia. It is of my opinion that the current plot snyposis contains way too much in-universe information; as I pointed out in eariler edit summaries, details about the names of the badges, the TMs, every in-game event are in-universe and does not depict it in a real-world context. I thought I would chime in. It has been demonstrated that "extensive plot summaries" are considered copyright violation. New Headers

I added headlines throughout the "Storyline" section and am doing various cleanups on his article. I pretty much wrote the Sevii Islands section, as there was not any coverage about what is done there. This article really needs a complete rewrite. Storyline section is way too long IMO; WikidSmahat said that he's going to prune it down a bit. (If it isn't done in two weeks, I'll try again, but cut out less then last time.) I organized the changes into a tidy set of lists, but now I've realized that the lists are awful and should be put into paragraphs of prose. It's on my list of things to do. Bah, if one were to look, the contents even show that the story has too much content. It even contains in-universe information like "badges". It's best if the storyline is cut down to the basics, not describing a complete trainer account (like, in detail, which leader is battled against). It's not concise enough. This is a remake of the original R/B/Y/G games; it doesn't include the regions Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh. The only Pokemon games that used more than one region were Gold/Silver/Crystal--you could unlock Kanto at the end of the game. Time-travel?

The visual Braille text in the game (near the ruby & sapphire plate) seems to hint (to me at least) that the linking with Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald is through time-travel. Although there is evidence that seems to contradict this is, like the girl in the Pokemon Center (on Island 1?) who says something to the effect that she can now talk to her boyfriend in Hoenn. And the inscriptions I'm referring to might have actually been hinting at the plates use for long range communication. Plus, the part where it talks about 'new lands' might have been from the inscribers point of view, since it's pretty obvious that they already knew about Hoenn.

If the text is specific enough to leave no doubt that time-travel is involved, I think that it should be included in the article. Otherwise, I think this probably falls under original research.--Osho-Jabbe 05:36, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

The special editions you're talking about are enhanced remakes. FireRed and LeafGreen are enhanced remakes of Red and Blue, so it's very unlikely that they will get a remake of their own.--Mario Kart DS 95 15:39, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

In all the guides, info, and net pages of firered and leafgreen, I have not seen a single one that talks about the elite four's new pokemon if you challenge them again. If you challenge them a second time, they will have some johto pokemon instead of doubling up on one pokemon. Gary, in my game, replaced Rhydon and Pidgeot with Tyranitar and Heracross. Questions

These are two questions that are only vaguely answered, I think. Can someone explain these a little bit more to me, please?

- FireRed and LeafGreen are basically remakes of the original Red and Blue respectively for the most part but ALSO feature another region to play in with more Pokémon than the original 150 (151)?
