The games section[edit]

I have become friends with one of the hosts, Tara, through MySpace. I might see about getting her help with that section.John 07:42, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good, you can ask her to NOT make the game embarrassingly easy. "RCHSIMATS VEE" on December 22nd!?

Criticism[edit]

I don't know if there's enough and objective information to get a neutral Criticism section but I feel, personally, that this show is such a sham. The puzzles are intentionally incredibly easy and the hostess intentionally talks for like 20 minutes consecutively without taking a caller. The hostess directs the conversation directly at the viewer making anyone believe that they could win so the show can get as many callers and collect as much money from the text and (900) number surcharges (I don't know if there's a fee to play online). I've never stayed up long enough or had enough patience to watch a whole episode but I could imagine this tantalizing game goes on for the entire hour with very few calls actually being answered and a loud cheer coming from the prodcuers every time someone improbably guesses incorrect on air to allow for fifteen more minutes without giving out the prize. The fine print is also illegible, scrolls very fast and is matted on a light background so I don't understand how anyone could be able to understand it. If anyone has been able to decipher it, it would be nice to have it on the page. I think that as a detractor of the show, the best thing to do is inform would-be participants who read Wikipedia. 70.23.116.128 16:02, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The show could be sold as a sleeping pill, with obvious "puzzles" and perhaps seven winners an hour in the show. It's dull, it's stiff, it's actually tedious. But as I've actually won money on it via a free web entry, I won't say it's a sham. I have no problems cashing their check. Jclinard 08:38, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
While I agree with most of the criticisms there, I don't think there's a way to objectively include that in this article (especially if it hasn't been sourced by reliable, credible sources). Having said that, while I DO think they stall to get as many people playing as possible (and avoid paying out as much as possible), the show is still legitimate. I'm not 100% clear on the rules governing such things, but there IS a free entry method (Internet)... and that if they DIDN'T have one, it would be tantamount to a lottery (and illegal). As for the scrolling rules... yes, they are probably in the smallest, most hard to read typeface imaginable... but they are also accessible on the game's Web site. If you wanted to add a link to the official rules on the game's page, that would be cool. (As an aside: they may be tip-toeing on the edge, but if they were to violate any rules, I'm sure that standards & practices would have a fit, plus, it would open Tribune up to some major lawsuits.) I was the one who started the criticism log, I was just unsigned in. So basically, it seems like it's just a live and learn or caveat emptor thing. They may not be the most credible or honesty business people but they are certainly legal and it's up to the consumer to decide whether to oblige or not. Stephen 02:50, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Given my experience, PlaytoWin is legit in their money. They sent me my winnings... look it up on the web site J.C. Las Vegas, NV... I won it. A friend of mine won $750 on their last national night in their last game. He also used free web entries. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.210.150.61 (talk) 12:28, 25 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Well, we have someone at the bottom of this page saying quite the opposite, using wording that should not be anywhere on Wikipedia. But you verify what I believe. John 14:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Filming Location[edit]

The assertion that the show is taped in the Netherlands needs to be cited -- while I have no doubt that it's true, WP:V dictates that we source it from somewhere. Amnewsboy 09:52, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Edition[edit]

There is a Canadian version of the show that currently airs on the various Citytv stations across Canada. I will add info about this within the next few days if nobody else gets to it before me! =frontside= 10:06, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Later Time[edit]

Well well well.... Seems like the Play2Win hoes had trouble getting into work at 8am so the show is now an hour later. Too much partying in the Netherlands perhaps? Needeless to say this crap has got to go. 3 Cirles Media has got a pretty good scam going. Eurotrash at it's best. I'm sorry but anyone who falls for this shit is a certified SUCKER!!!

Funny, I came within a hair of getting on. Unfortunately, the call dropped. And you got your wish, the show is now off. Now quit pointing fingers, this is an encyclopedia, not a place to throw insults at those involved with the subject of the article. John 09:44, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I heard Tara put out a restraning order. She would like you to stop stalking her.
Who is this directed at? Me or the one above me? Just to make things clear, I'm not the one doing anythign wrong, it's the jerk above me who is making slanderous remarks about 3 Circles, Tara, Amber, Elizabeth, and whoever the hell else was involved with the show. And please sign your comments. John 13:45, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The latest vandal[edit]

In the Later Time section, we are having a problem with someone who loves to find reasons to make unnecessary remarks. While it's OK to express your opinion, he is taking it way too far. On top of that, he is not signing his comments. To this poster: Please stop. I put the entry up for Play2Win, and several have worked as hard as I did at expanding the page as the show evolved. If this keeps up, I will report you and recommend that your editing privileges get revoked.John 14:21, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please xplain P2W/ MyGamesFever[edit]

__HI JOHN, Since you created this P2W wiki page, hopefully you understand P2W snd its spinoffs. If you dont mind, pls answer these questions that I have.

  1. Is P2W live in the Neth, so "old" when we see it in the US?
  2. P2W started last summer, sumer 06. It is from the Netherlands. I'm on east coast, but in DC not NY. It came on 2-3am est on wgn cable channel. Was it live in the sense that 2-3am was 9am in the Neth?
  3. If it is recorded ( or broadcast live) in the Neth, why do the hosts say "tonight" or "good morning", and why were they late?
  4. Where are we in the US sending out text messages and online entires to, the Neth?
  5. The current info here on wiki says
"On the morning of March 10, 2006, Play2Win aired its final episode. During that final week, the show was syndicated to several Tribune stations across the country.".

....So right now reruns are on in the US( well not the US, just in NY & FL) ? Is that what syndication means, reruns?

  1. ( this is #6 but 4 some reason wiki is calling it #1) Here in the upn station for 2 hours from 1-3 is a show called My Games Fever. It has Natalia and others as hosts. It is just like P2W, is this the US version/spinoff? THX! written by Lilkunta 16:16, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I contributed this article with what I know, and myself along with the other editors added things we learned as the series went along. I'm not the only one who has edited this article, I've had some help. But I'll gladly answer your questions.
  • 1: It was on live in the US. To the hosts, it was morning.
  • 2: Yes.
  • 3: That I cannot answer.
  • 4: I don't know how the calls are handled.
  • 5: No, just for that final week. Play2Win was a live interactive show, unlike other game shows like Match Game, Family Feud, the Price is Right, etc. etc. Syndication is a term used for a show that is not on a network. See Syndication.
  • 6: MyGamesFever has nothing to do with Play2Win. Both are produced by different companies. Hope this helps. BTW, your edit to the article is the best I've seen. John 04:14, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
