Name of article[edit]
This article should be named "Balalan" as per the following:
- In Google Scholar, restricting the search to English-language results with with the additional restriction to Cyprus, Balalan is clearly the more prevalent name: 49 for Balalan vs 9 for Platanissos vs 20 for Platanisso. It would appear that the current name (Platanissos) is the least preferred one.
- Google Books has not been very helpful for me here as it is not displaying the number of hits. Google Ngram Viewer shows an equivalence of the hits with a recent preference for Balalan.
- This is a situation where WP:MLN applies, and I note that this is historically a Turkish Cypriot village, therefore it would make sense to choose the Turkish name (Balalan) over the Greek one (Platanissos).
