Final appearance of Mike Yates[edit]

How can this story be the final appearance of Mike Yates if Franklin reprised the role in The Five Doctors? I'd say it should be regular appearance, except he wasn't in the two preceeding episodes. Should this cast note be deleted? Terrypin 08:45, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Franklin appeared as a false apparition of Yates in The Five Doctors. So in a sense this is his last appearance in that the character never reappears (just fake images of him do). DonQuixote 14:14, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Worth a mention?[edit]

Just wondered if the Spiders have any relation to when Donna Noble had a similar thing with the Time Beetle (insect on the back and the like). It say's in the wiki of the episode "turn Left" that the design of the time beetle was influenced by the spiders. So isi is worth a mention? Also if there was any negative reaction to the sterotypical 'Oriental' portrayal, and if it is worth mentioning? Why they did not get an Oriental to play the part confuses me as they had already used a Chinese actress to play Chin Lee just a couple of years before. Black actors had been apearing in episodes for years, yet K'anpo is cringe worthy at the best of times (opinion given from a white guy who strongly disagrees with political correctness and likes Al Jolston). I may be alone in this opinion, but if they had a white guy 'blacked up' to play Kemel in Evil of the Daleks, it would certainly not be seen in a positive light. These are just mere suggestions (not a debate) as to whether or not they are worth a mention:) DarkMithras27/06/2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.100.246.254 (talk) 20:18, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No relation. The Spiders were earth spiders that were mutated by the Metabelese Crystalls. DonQuixote (talk) 03:36, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
DarkMithras/anon, why not just google for this stuff yourself? If it's been mentioned somewhere else in a reliable third party source, then it's probably worth mentioning. Your own opinions though, would only count as OR. WikiuserNI (talk) 09:11, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The 'turn left' comment was more a passing thought, but I could find nothing on Google regaurding the use of yellow face, hence I asked:( Al I could find is this, which means nothing really http://seeingred.livejournal.com/47975.html .........I do refrain from writing on Wiki though as my grammar is not great and I do not know the correct way to write here (I have an account here and dont even know how to sign my name lol). So I mention things in this part. There is always more information that in Google anyway (like old magazines and the like) which never seem to get published on the net, or are forgotten.
Odd, because the Talons of Weng-Chiang has had critisism for racism, and this hasn't. Maybe it just wasn't that bad and I am being silly, c'est la vie. DarkMithras 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.100.246.254 (talk) 20:37, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DVD release date[edit]

Still searching for a reliable source which gives a firm release date for the R2 DVD, other than the vague "2011" as implied by Doctor Who Magazine. It's only two days since the BBFC issued a certificate for the extras, yet we have an IP who has twice added 18 April 2011 immediately before the DWM ref. No such date is given in that magazine. drwho-online show it as TBA. Amazon don't recognise the title other than for the VHS version and the Target novel. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:02, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A lot can happen in 24 hours. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:49, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
