Proof of 6th color?[edit]

Is there proof, like an article, or announcement, that confirms a sixth color will be added to Magic? If so, can someone provide a link?

EDIT: Now I can't seem to find the statement in the Planar Chaos page saying there is a sixth color. Strange.

I removed the text about the so-called 6th color. There was no proof of the statement, no reason to cause such a rumor to exist. --Mjrmtg 12:00, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A 6th color was someones old idea from R&D that might be used in the future, it was named Barry's Land basically a new land that produced a colourless mana. It might only be used for flavour reasons as it would not alter the game in anyway.

Then its not really a 6th color. --Mjrmtg 16:31, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was going to be a sixth colour, proof is here http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/feature/386

Notable cards added today[edit]

All the links give 403 errors if you go to them directly from wikipedia. If you refresh them or go to them manually they work, site doesn't seem to allow external links... Does anyone have another source? Chakothee 09:34, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The text about red Akroma contradicts set design?Gwendolyr 13:03, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all. Akroma, Angel of Fury is not timeshifted, as her abilities differ greatly from the orriginal Akroma, Angel of Wrath's abilities. This can be clearly seen, as red Akroma uses a regular frame rather than a timeshifted frame. --Lifebaka 21:47, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Card listings[edit]

Does any one have a listing of cards in this set? On a personal note; think they'll make a Yawgmoth card? Evicorator666 04:01, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Cards are still in development, and won't be released until next year. I don't think even Wizards has a card list themselves yet. -- saberwyn 08:39, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for the reply. Evicorator666 17:04, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3 rares total right?[edit]

I'm pretty sure it's similar to Time Spiral where you could get up to 3 rares (forgot how much Time Spiral had); but it's definately not just 2 -- you can get 1 normal rare, 1 foil rare, and 1 timeshifted rare (which would replace the slot for a normal uncommon card). So it's possible to get 3 rares in 1 booster, which is the same thing Time Spiral did (I think).

  • Yes, in Time Spiral, you could potentially get 3 rares, a regular rare, a foil rare (which replaced a common) and a Timeshifted card, which was noted as being %50 rarer for the Time Spiral set, though not necessarily for the card itself, since it might be a reprint of a common (i.e. Disintegrate). Although if you got a foil Timeshifted in the pack, that it was it for both your foil and your Timeshifted in one card. Now in Planar Chaos, you could still potentially get 3 rares, one regular, one foil (which replaces a common), and one Timeshifted (which now replaces an uncommon if its a rare). Though if I had to guess, if you got a foil Timeshifted rare, that would be it for both your foil and your rare Timeshifted in one card like in Time Spiral. Speculation regarding Timeshifted looks[edit]

It's specifically referenced in the Chaos Theory article that the new look for the Timeshifted cards is white text for both the card name and card type, and a different style (though not necessarily color as speculated in the current edit to being grey) for both the text box and card frame and normal rarity symbols. Speculation from the Damnation entry should be removed since these details are now verifiable. Shyran 19:35, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Cards[edit]

How many Notable Cards are we going to list? And all of the ones that link to the Magic Vortex website give me an error when I click on them. --Mjrmtg 11:59, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I was just as soon list only the cards that have been officially previewed at Wizards website in the preview articles Shyran 18:06, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Shouldn't we wait until the set is out to determine what is notable? --SparqMan 18:56, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, I ask how many Notable Cards are we going to list? People could keep adding their favorite Notable Card until we have 50 listed. --Mjrmtg 00:55, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    • So far the list has been kept pretty trim, noting two cycles, the notable splash cards (Damnation and red Akroma), Timbermare for being a tribute card and Extirpate for being the only certain set card to alter the metagame. --SparqMan 05:00, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Someone added Groundbreaker recently but I see its been removed already. --Mjrmtg 11:36, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any justification for the inclusion of any of these. While several of the specific substatements are referenced, there's no justification for any of the cards actually being present in the listing at all other than "some Wikipedia editor thinks it's notable". This is a value judgement of the sort that we don't do. If we're going to single out specific cards as being notable, we have to find and cite evidence that they're actually widely noted. —Cryptic 09:14, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Timbermare[edit]

"Timbermare: A green variation of Thundermare, this card was designed as a tribute to Marilyn "The Lovely Mare" Wakefield, late wife of former Pro Tour player Jamie Wakefield, who died of ovarian cancer in May of 2006." This needs to be reworded, because right now it can be interpreted as saying that Jamie Wakefield was the one who died of ovarian cancer! --Temporarily Insane (talk) 13:31, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken care of it by removing the text about ovarian cancer. It doesn't really add anything to the bullet anyway, and it seems like it's nothing more than just some random trivia. ----lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 13:41, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Full Spoiler[edit]

Even though the set comes out for prerelease tommorrow, I found the full spoiler list of Planar Chaos. http://mtgsalvation.com/planar-chaos-spoiler.html

They don't have all of the pictures, but the do have all of the information of the card. If you're searching for a specific card, just go to Edit - Find in this page, and search for what you like. This is going to be a fun set:)

Release[edit]

The article page should be updated now that the full spoiler has been released. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 168.170.203.150 (talkcontribs).
