New League title and page movement[edit]

  • As you can see in the article, the Iranian league will now be known as the Persian Gulf Premier League.Should the page be moved as well? If we don't want to do that, shouldn't we at least change the page title to the Iranian Premier League?

Fair use rationale for Image:Ipl200.png[edit]

Image:Ipl200.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:45, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New Title[edit]

  • According to FIFA our league is called the Iranian Pro League see [1] and for this reason I think we should move this page to "Iranian Pro League" as the league may have been renamed to Persian Gulf Cup but is still officially sanctioned by FIFA as the "Iranian Pro League" (IPL). Iran's Premier Football League is too long and is incorrect, it's a litteral translation of Lige Bartar Footballe Iran and Wikipedia is all about the official names rather than someones interpretation.

Persepolis is the most successfull with 2 champs[edit]

Persepolis is the most successfull club in Iran Pro league.Joojoo ra

Joojoo is right. Most successfull clubs are based on championships not points, persepolis has won the IPL twice but esteghlal has won it only once, Please use your common sense. Sohrab 0611 (talk) 16:19, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Esteghlal won it again, Now both of them are "The Most successfull". right? Amirreza talk 16:32, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybie Esteghlal is most successfull team now, beacuse they went runner-up twice.Joojoo ra, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Recent changes and reversions[edit]

I made a number of changes to this article, including the removing of some uncited comments and sections, and the insertion of English-language sources. In particular I removed an uncited 'all-time table' section, although in any case I am not convinced this kind of statistical detail is appropriate for the article. On two occassions I have been reverted (with minimal reasoning given), and so am requesting a discussion here. Eldumpo (talk) 16:54, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All time tables, as fun as they are, they don't really mean anything. I would suggest they are moved to another page, something like Iranian football statistics, rather than deleted altogether. So, OK, not meaningful to some, but someone produced them for a reason. Let's discuss, not just hyper war. Druryfire (talk) 17:23, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It may be appropriate to move them to Iranian football league records or similar, but firstly they would need references and some proof that it's not original research. Eldumpo (talk) 23:21, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why not add this section? "Persian Gulf Pro League transfers"[edit]

For example, the latest transfer was Mehdi Taremi | Persepolis to algharafa. Mohammad13701 (talk) 23:11, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
