I am not able to improve on co-ordinates accuracy. Can somebody help? - Chandan Guha (talk) 04:37, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Since you introduced the coordinates, can you say how you determined them? They may be good enough just as they are, since the IP editor making this request did not say why he/she thought that they needed to be corrected. If you just guessed or approximated them, however, then they probably ought to be removed until a better fix can be obtained. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 22:28, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Google maps does not pin point Pench Kanhan Coalfield. Moreover, while there are two coal areas within one specification this identification is that of Pench Valley. Kanhan Valley, perhaps, needs to be identified separately. Newton and Chikli are important collieries in the Pench Kanhan Coalfiled. The coordinates are those of Chikli Newton Kalan in Google maps. It is in the Pench River valley in Chhindwara District of Madhya Pradesh. The river is marked further downstream. The coal mines are near Parasia, which is also located in the map. In Wikimapia there are references in the area to Bhamori Colliery and 11 no. pit, and a number of ‘colonies’, which usually refer to residential areas of particular groups of people such as coal miners. The place seems to be broadly okay but may require fine tuning. The coordinates can be removed. I have no objections, but this at least leads to the area and somebody can fine tune it to make it more accurate. - Chandan Guha (talk) 02:01, 18 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
