Born in Bucharest ?[edit]

I have my doubts about this being true.

One, the link to the so called "naturalisation" leads to a service you have to pay for to use, so I can't find confirmation of that.

Two, I have found conflicting information online, claiming he was born in Philadelphia:

I found this link which claims a "friend" by the name of William F. Ryan asserted he was born in Bucharest

While it's not impossible that Eldridge's father was indeed initially named "Erdreich" and was a member of a German community in Romania, the fact his wife also bore the French name Lafleur seems a little odd. While a Romance language, Romanian names aren't typically very French sounding.
