I bet nobody has translated this. Cheers.

I certainly couldn't but thanks anyway! Chrisdoyleorwell (talk) 07:39, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Just making my way through this book - very well referenced, probably a thesis produced for popular market. Frequent references to POC, but very little detail.Shtove 19:39, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Thanks- will read it Chrisdoyleorwell (talk) 21:06, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Books says the plan was to kill Anthony Perez, not Elizabeth - Cecil etc. simply manipulated the evidence at indictment by substituting the queen for Perez in the confessions. Sophisticated! Seems to be born out by the CSPD + Collen (#45) said his first confessor tried to dissuade him as it was murder. Relevant pages from CSPD p.421-431 #33-64 (couple of Collen confessions, probably needs full transcribing, main emphasis on Annias) - link isn't precise, go to 442 on bar at bottom of window: https://archive.org/details/calendarstatepa02unkngoog

Alford[edit]

I added a little bit from Alford as a summary of his 10 pages of the simultaneous investigations. Hard to get it right, and to fit it in without messing up your text. Google can start you off: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=hGL5qCyq-WQC&pg=PT485&lpg=PT485&dq=alford+%22roderigo+lopez%22&source=bl&ots=m5o7NW3hFe&sig=4q7CD8LZKtdFVxuVhEqJ_CGZ8_0&hl=en&sa=X&ei=lK_rU9j2CO-M7Ab9tYDwBA&ved=0CCIQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=alford%20%22roderigo%20lopez%22&f=falseit -Shtove (talk) 18:35, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much Chrisdoyleorwell (talk) 20:00, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Between Green and Alford there's enough material for a separate article on an assassination scare. Maybe tied in with a hardening of policy in Ireland after the Armada, and leading to the Nine Years War.-Shtove (talk) 00:28, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea Chrisdoyleorwell (talk) 07:54, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
