... that until 1984 messages could be sent by pneumatic tube(pictured) in central Paris? "Le ministère des PTT prit la décision d'arrêter le service pneumatique le 30 mars 1984" which I translate to: "The PTT ministry decided to stop the pneumatic post service on March 30, 1984" from page 148 of: Poujol, Thierry (1989). "Des égouts au musée, splendeur et déclin de la poste atmosphérique"(PDF). Technique (19): 143–149.
