that was NOT 10 years as cardinal deacon[edit]

I find:

"After ten years as a Cardinal-Deacon he opted for the order of Cardinal-Priests and he exchanged his deaconry for the title of S. Girolamo degli Schiavoni on 5 March 1973."

I am fixing the spelling of "deaconry", but I see another problem: That cannot be 10 years, because he wasn't a cardinal until 1969. Can someone explain?

Your math is correct. I’ve made a change. Still a mystery how he moved to cardinal priest after just a few years as sources agree happened. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 22:49, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
