Age of participants[edit]
The 2002 Pan Am winner, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County has Alex Wojtkiewicz age 39 as their 1st board for their A Team and Alex Sherzer age 31 as their 1st board for their B Team. Alex Sherzer played 1st Board for Rhode Island College back in 1990 twelve years ago when he was 19. - Read the rules section. AlexW and AlexS were full-time, degree-seeking students; they satisfied all eligibility requirements established by the CCC. AlexS was an A-student taking up to 21 credits hours majoring in UMBC's highly-acclaimed emergency health sciences program, with intention of completing his college degree. "Cup" winners?[edit]
It is not explained in the article what the "Cup" is that lists winners. Is there a permanent cup (perhaps at US Chess headquarters) that lists winners/co-winners? Because it clearly can't refer to the first place trophy. For example, in 1986, Harvard and Chicago played a blitz playoff for the first place trophy, which Chicago won 3 1/2 - 1/2. I think this may be mentioned in Eric Schiller's article in Chess Life on the tournament, which would make it verifiable.
