Image deletion request[edit]

Greetings,

When viewing the Wikimedia images which are linked from this article, in the middle of the set, there is an image of a recently-killed, bloody squirrel. It does not seem to serve any specific informational purpose that isn't served by the other photos, and I can't recall ever encountering graphic images of just-killed wild animals in other scientific articles. From a biological perspective, the image does not seem to serve any explanatory purpose, because the posture is unnatural and the coloring is changed by the circumstances of death, so I really can't find a rationale for its value in this context. Due to being part of this article, this image is also one of the top hits for searches for the Pallas Squirrel outside of Wikipedia, which is unfortunate. I wanted to request that this image be removed in order to make this article more informative and less disturbing. Thanks for considering! 93.23.202.74 (talk) 09:30, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing the above refers to File:Dead Red-bellied Squirrel DSCN9800.jpg. Jidanni (talk) 04:19, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
