Stage names[edit]

Moscovian, more properly is a stage in the Upper (or Late) Carboniferous. The upper Moscovian is equivalent to the Pennsylvanian Desmoinsian (upper Middle Penn.). The Pennsylvanian is generally regarded as a period in North America although some have demoted it to a subperiod or epoch. J.H.McDonnell (talk) 01:57, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
