Type locality[edit]

This note is purely original research and hence relegated to the talk page ! The designation of the type locality of Bangalore by Sir Norman Boyd Kinnear is almost certainly in error. The specimen most likely came from further north, most likely from Bombay or neighbourhood. The records and postings of John Anderton may help. If the said person was Captain in 6th Foot (at Bombay) regiment - then this favours the possibility of Bombay as the type locality. In any case the hunting records presented in Abdulali's paper suggests that the species was very common in the Bombay region. Shyamal (talk) 15:07, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
