Not Paul but Pål (or Paal)[edit]

The name Pål was "transcribed" to Paul, but the correct transcription (if you want to avoid using å), is Paal (å is a "double a" typographic ligature). The pronounciation is the same as Paul though. See the disambiguation pages Åge and Kåre for some examples of articles where the "å" has not been changed to "au" (and in the latter there are some examples of it being changed (or was originally written) as "aa"). A search for pål will also reveal that many (most?) biographies of people named Pål keeps the å. I have therefore moved the article to Pål Mathiesen. If somebody strongly disagrees, please discuss it here. Note that the article should under no circumstances be moved back to Paul, if it is deemed desireable to avoid the use of "å", the article should be moved to Paal Mathiesen instead. - Soulkeeper (talk) 15:08, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
