Sources for this article[edit]

The citations in this article are essentially useless. I've tried to figure what sources the creator of this article used.

  • Ryan J. Wheeler is the author of Treasure of the Calusa, which might be relevant. I don't have access to this book, and probably will have to try to get it through an inter-library loan. He also authored an article in the issue of The Florida Anthropologist listed below.
  • Robert S. Carr co-authored an article in the issue of The Florida Anthropologist listed below.
  • Richard Thornton claims to have discovered Mayan influence in tribes in northern Georgia. He appears to be a propounder of a fringe theory, and I haven't found any work of his that relates to Ortona.
  • George R. Milner is an anthropologist archaeologist who specializes in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri and Kentucky. I have not found any work of his that relates to Ortona.
