List of compositions

I intend to add a list of compositions to this in the very near future. When I get the list of published works from the London Records office, I shall be able to identify which ones were published and which were not. Do you think this is of relevant interest? I think (but more experienced users may or may not confirm) the Wikipedia practice is to corral such lists into a separate article - e.g. "List of compositions by XYZ" - with a prominent link from the main article. So there could be the biographical article, as posted just now, with a new summary section under "composer" linking to the full list you propose. - Tim riley (talk) 22:54, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't care about the separate list articles, and they get very low traffic. I suggest adding to the main article a short "selected list" of his most important works, or, even better, describing his most important works narratively in the body of the article. It has info about Morgan and effects and the holdings by the LMA. This may be of strong interest. I'm just not sure about how to insert it without it being wrong or awkwardly placed. Slfarrell (talk) 23:13, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

We already reference this National Archives article several times, and I added a little more from it. What else from it do you think could be included? The list of documents doesn't seem to be really helpful from an encyclopedic viewpoint, unless you can conclude something from it? -- Ssilvers (talk) 04:42, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Morgan's most successful/famous composition seems to be "Clorinda", which has been recorded a few times, and the music is the only one of his that's still regularly available. That deserves a mention for that reason, but the others aside from TMM, I don't know them at all. Slfarrell (talk) 22:45, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

I also have the music for his Valse Caprice, dedicated to Daphne and Raymond Rayner. And Richard Crooks recorded the song "Clorinda" for (I think) RCA. There's a listing on Amazon.com - would it be appropriate to include a link to this disc? It is the only Morgan recording available at the moment. Probably goes under 'external links' if it belongs at all. After this is finished up, I think I might move on to Reginald Somerville's article, get that started.
