Original research[edit]

There's probably no oral-traditional theme more widely regarded as securely established than the "hero on the Beach;" in support of the claim that it's been definitively "disproven" (hard to imagine any literary scholar making that claim), we get an incoherent and unsigned blog. If we remove this claim (and we should) there's so little left here, and all of it handled better in Oral tradition, that there will be little left. There's good reason for an article on the subject, but it will be a lot of work. DavidOaks (talk) 14:18, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

concerning the translation from Beowulf[edit]

I have a couple of questions about the translation of the passage from Beowulf in this entry:

1) should the translator be credited?

2) do we know who the translator is?

3) do we know the copyright status of the translation?
