Villagers[edit]

They mainly captured villages which the Arabs abandoned following news of the fall of Tell es-Safi: Jilya, Qazaza, Idnibba and Mughallis.[3] However, according to at least two of the articles on the villages, the IDF expelled the villagers. Gatoclass (talk) 15:13, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please point me to where it says that. The only thing close to what you're saying that I can see is: our forces have entered the villages of Qazaza, Kheima, Jilya, Idnibba, Mughallis, expelled the inhabitants, [and] blown up and torched a number of houses. The area is at the moment clear of Arabs., copy & pasted verbatim in two articles. However, there is nothing in this statement says that they expelled people from individual villages. It's an ambiguous statement that basically says "we have expelled the Arabs in this area". It might have been just one village, or a few people remaining in some or all the listed villages, therefore it does not contradict any of the statements in the article. If the buildings of the villages were destroyed in Operation Death to the Invader (which is likely), that would be interesting to add to the article, but I do not have a copy of the 2004 book by Morris and thus cannot add anything from there. I am not going to copy a statement from another article even if it is sourced. —Ynhockey (Talk) 23:51, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I have however made a small change that better reflects the ambiguity of the matter. —Ynhockey (Talk) 02:03, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
