Article rewrite???[edit]

Somebody with some time on their hands should rewrite this article. I amended the presnt day route terminus information which was previously incorrect. However, although the remainder of the article is to some degree factually correct, it reads as though it was written by an 11 year old.

I agree! This article is a little confusing. Dylan Slade 19:44, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of interchange with Highway 427[edit]

Several justification for including this photo. It is a good example of how the province labeled Dundas Street as Highway 5 even though it was downloaded for decades once Highway 427 was created, as both collector and express overhead sign gantries show the 5 in the crown, despite the photo's low resolution (also photo is used for this publication [1]). From 2009 onward the overhead signage only shows Dundas Street without reference to Highway 5. FobTown (talk) 03:37, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's use elsewhere isn't relevant. What is important is that even zoomed to its full size, the image still barely makes out the shield, which isn't all that important. There are official road maps from the 50s to 1998 that show Highway 5 going though Toronto well after being decommissioned (and we can upload the maps published up to 1971). Literally anything is better than that picture! - Floydian τ ¢ 06:08, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If the clarify of the shield is a sticking point, is there a way to use this photo [2] from this website[3] ? FobTown (talk) 19:29, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually yes. I got us blanket permission for all of Averill Hecht's photos back in 2010 (forgot about that until now).

I deleted the pic as Dundas was Hwy. 5 until 1998, despite being a connecting link. Transportfan70 (talk) 05:47, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
FobTown got himself permabanned finally; I've cleaned up some of his hills to die on, but there's probably a few more lying around. - Floydian τ ¢ 14:16, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
