Moving the full text[edit]

to wikiquote might be a good idea? Probably just gonna go ahead and do it after I finish this essay, maybe. Abeg92contribs 14:18, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Summarize?[edit]

Surely there's a middle ground between the unhelpful "the merger of the agrarian concerns of the Farmers' Alliance with the free-currency monetarism of the Greenback Party while explicitly endorsing the goals of the largely urban Knights of Labor" and the uninterpreted full text. I've read this page and am none the wiser as to the context, provenance, import or significance of the Omaha Platform. · rodii · 23:10, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More context[edit]

The article fails to mention why the Omaha Platform got its name which leaves readers questioning the geographical origin of this particular set of political goals. It is not enough to assume readers have prior knowledge on a historical phenomenon, therefore, a section of an article titled "Origin" should consist of a description of every historical concept necessary to fully understand the historical meaning of the article's topic. Possible rewriting / clarification request[edit]

The first paragraph in the "Origin section" contains the following sentence:

> The planks themselves represent the merger of the agrarian concerns of the Farmers' Alliance with the free-currency monetarism of the Greenback Party while explicitly endorsing the goals of the largely urban Knights of Labor.

It is not clear what "plank" means in this context, is it possible some information is being ommitted here (a logo that was previously displayed is no longer in this page)? BoleroGoleador (talk) 22:44, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
