Old knights[edit]

I hope you're not trying to imply that the current team and the previous teams are connected. I let the references to the older teams slide during the off season before this team actually skated. Now that they are operating, I would hope this article shifts its focus to them. I encourage you to create articles for the previous team with the same name. Franchise history.[edit]

Might want to double check the Utica Devils part of the franchise history. Pretty sure this team was called the "Salt Lake Golden Eagles" and where in the IHL before they where in Saint John. And before that they where the Moncton Golden Hawks (or Golden Flames, not 100% on that, but Brett Hull played for them in Moncton when he was in the Flames farm system). What sources are there that the Utica Devils became the Saint John Flames? I see this linkage is only mentioned on the Knights page itself, and not on the articles for the Devils or Flames. Flibirigit 21:20, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there's this [1]. Not the greatest source, but its a start. Off hand, I think the Utica franchise was locally owned, but Calgary bought them out right and still partially own it with the Ak-Sar-Ben organization. The Capital District Islanders moved from RPI's rink in Troy, NY to Albany proper and became the River Rats with a Devils affiliation. ccwaters 01:15, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rumored move[edit]

I was skeptical about this Quad Cities until I read this in Glen Falls (Adirondack): [2] The important part :"The AHL extended its deadline for teams to determine home ice locations for next season from May 15 to May 25, said Jason Chaimovitch, a league spokesman.". Typically the AHL wants a firm league roster at the spring meeting (which just concluded). I figured we'd have announcements for any changes by now. Indeed. This rumour came out of nowhere, but it has been mentioned in at least three reliable sources so far. I can certantly cite the others if need be. Given that the Flames and Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben are rumoured to have lost over $4 million in two years, it isnt surprising the Flames are looking to get out of the market.
