Untitled[edit]

Game Title[edit]

A quick search for the game on Google reveals the game being listed alternately as "March of the Black Queen" and "The March of the Black Queen". Which is correct? I know the game is named after a song by Queen with the same name, but the same problem occurs when searching for the song. SharkD 21:12, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]


In the game itself, in the intro, I believe they say "The March of the Black Queen" (including "the"). Unfortunately, I currently have no way of checking this at this time. If someone has quick access to an SNES emulator and the ROM (or even an PSX emulator and the disc) they could check it pretty quick, just by listening to the intro. But as my memory serves, the narrator says "Ogre Battle Saga, episode five: The March of the Black Queen." --Caejis 23:34, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I note that the article says the game was titled after songs on a Queen album, but the Japanese name given in the opening paragraph doesn't seem to include the "March of the Black Queen" subtitle. Genre[edit]

American Release Date[edit]

The article gives an ambiguous 1995, MobyGames lists it as 1994, while GameFAQs claims it was released in 1993! Does anyone know when this game was released in the US?24.84.204.220 (talk) 00:50, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What does titular Ogre mean?[edit]

Well, as noted it's from the name of a Queen song, so that's the source of the name. But it's probably also significant that the Japanese "Oni" can be translated, with more or less equal validity, as "ogre" or "demon", so Japanese fantasy games don't tend to draw a sharp distinction between the two, and the war the game depicts is in part against demonic forces. 50.71.167.160 (talk) 22:14, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
